Interesting Facts about Balloons

Balloons ASAP use high quality FOIL and Latex Balloons.

FOIL balloons or microfoil balloons are made of a thin, continuous film of metal over nylon. Foil balloons are less porous and therefore hold their helium much longer than Latex or Synthetic balloons.

LATEX balloons or Rubber balloons are made from 100% natural, bio-degradable Latex and therefore breakdown and decompose when exposed to the environment. A Latex balloon will decompose in much the same fashion and speed as a leaf from a tree.

Impurities- cheap latex balloons often contain silicon which allows the helium to dissipate through the membrane much faster. If the balloons originate from China or Taiwan beware.

BalloonsASAP use only qualatex or premier balloons the industry leaders.

Helium and Float Times.

Helium is a gas lighter than air, however due to its small molecular structure the gas escapes from both Latex and Foil balloons which is why in time they deflate and become less bouyant.

Safety Precautions

  1. Do not inhale Helium. Helium displaces air in your lungs and will cause suffocation from lack of oxygen.
  2. Dispose of broken rubber balloons as children can choke on them.
